Send matches from your own domain

Automated Matchmaking tool
On the Pro Plus plan, the emails your members get during a match round come from your community's own domain instead of ours. Instead of a Curated Connections address in the From line, they see something like:
"Priya from Founders Circle" matches@founderscircle.com
Nothing about matching changes. Only the address it arrives from.

What it covers

Every email a member receives as part of a match round moves to your domain: the match notification itself, pre-match reminders, reply nudges, the opt-out and skip-this-round links, the edit-your-preferences email, and the resume and ghosting notices.

What it doesn't cover

Member-to-member intros, import confirmations, and billing or account emails still come from Curated Connections. So do replies: when a member hits reply on a match notification, it reaches our inbox, the same as before. The reply-to address on that email doesn't change.

Setting it up

You'll need access to wherever your domain's DNS is managed — Cloudflare, Namecheap, Google Domains, whoever your registrar is. The whole thing takes about five minutes on our side, and then some waiting on DNS.
  1. Open Community Settings and find the "Custom sending domain" card.
  2. Enter your address. The handle is the part before the @ and defaults to matches. The domain goes in bare — founderscircle.com, not https://www.founderscircle.com. Click Add domain.
  3. Add two DNS records. The card shows them once your domain is registered: a DKIM record of type TXT, and a return-path record of type CNAME at pm-bounces.yourdomain.com. Copy each host and value into your DNS provider exactly as shown. You do not need an SPF record.
  4. Wait for verification. We re-check your DNS every 15 minutes and verify the domain on its own — you don't need to keep the page open. If you'd rather not wait, each record has a Check button that tests it immediately. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, so a record that shows as Pending right after you save it usually just needs time.
  5. You're done. Once both records show Verified, your match emails go out from your address.

Good to know

  • One domain per community. It applies to every program you run, not per program.
  • The handle stays editable. Change matches@ to intros@ or anything else any time from the same card.
  • The domain is fixed once added. To move to a different domain, remove the current one and add the new one. Removing it sends your match emails back to our domain until the new one verifies.
  • This is a Pro Plus feature. On the Pro plan you can see the card, but the fields are locked. Branding removal — dropping the "Sent with Curated Connections" footer from match and program emails — is also part of Pro Plus, and applies whether or not you set up a custom domain.

If a record won't verify

Give it time first — up to 48 hours is normal, though most DNS providers are much faster. If it's still Pending after that, the usual causes are a record pasted with extra whitespace, a provider that appends your domain to the host automatically (so you end up with pm-bounces.founderscircle.com.founderscircle.com), or a CNAME blocked by a conflicting existing record. Compare what's live at your provider against what the card shows, character for character. If it still won't go through, send us an email and we'll look at it with you.
