How can I control how often community members receive new matches?
Automated Matchmaking tool
Members actually decide their own cadence during signup—but you control the menu they pick from and the schedule that powers it.
Quick answer
- Yes! You can let people pick Weekly / Bi‑weekly / Monthly / “Just once” … or remove any option you dislike.
- The matching robot wakes up on the day + hour you set and only includes members whose personal timer says “it’s time for a new match”.
Step‑by‑step
- Open your Program dashboard → click Edit by hitting the ✏️ icon.
- Head to the “Questions” tab. You’ll see a built‑in question called "How often do you want to be matched?".
- Remove the options you don't want members to see.
- Hit Save and relax—the scheduler takes it from here.
Each member selects their own preference
How it works under the hood
- Each signup stores a frequency value (weekly = 7 days, bi‑weekly = 14 days, etc.).
- Before creating pairs, the algorithm checks last_matched_at and only picks people whose gap ≥ their chosen frequency.
- If you pause the whole program, the timer respectfully stops.
