How to set up a member directory for your community?

If you're building your community on a platform like Slack, Whatsapp or Discord, you must be familiar with the "Who's who?" struggle:
"how do i find out other Partnership Professionals who work in B2B SaaS?”
“I’m visiting Singapore for a week. how can i see other designers who live in Singapore?”
" I would love to help other founders here. how can i learn what they’re are working on?”
It exists because these community platforms don't provide a useful directory of members. That's why we've build a directory tool. It is designed from the ground up to spark connections in your community.
It has:
Rich profile cards - see who's who at a glance
Filterable profiles - to help them find their tribe
Warm email intros - that allow privacy-friendly connections
This tool is included in your Curated Connections subscription. Here's how you can use it.
1. Visit the "Member directory" tab on the left panel
Log in to your Curated Connections dashboard and visit the "Member directory" tab on the left panel.
You need to hit the Turn on: Member directory button here. That will allow you to customise the directory and invite members to it.
Note: you can turn it off in "Community Settings" whenever you want.
2. Visit "Community Settings" tab to customise your directory

You can also add custom "Profile Tags" that members can fill out when signing up for the directory. These will help your members filter the right members to connect with later on.

Inviting members to your directory
Once you set up your directory, you are ready to share your unique invite link with your members.
Here's what a member will see when they visit that link:

Here, they need to fill out the onboarding form where they share information that is added to their community profiles.
Note: We always ask them for their location information as Country, City
After submitting their directory profile, your member will receive a link to visit the directory over email. They can also log into Curated Connections to visit the directory.

They are able to view any other member's profile, filter people based on tags or location and send them a warm email.
Warm emails
Warm emails allow you to facilitate member-to-member reachouts without invading anyone's privacy. Here's how it works:
Members can send a warm email to anyone in the directory by visiting their profiles. Let's say Paridhi wants to send Nityesh a warm email.
Here's the email that Nityesh will receive:
Notice that until now, Paridhi does not know Nityesh's email. Only if Nityesh chooses to reply to this email, it will go to Paridhi's inbox - thus revealing Nityesh's email to Paridhi.
You, as the community owner, can also change the max number of warm emails a member can send in your community in the Community Settings. This creates a way for members to safely network with each other without exposing private contact information.
